Workshop: RECYCLING – A SOURCE OF CREATIVITY

2026-06-01 – 2026-06-07

J.Biliūno g. 53, Anykščiai

Inspiration for creativity – old furniture and objects! To celebrate Design Week ’26, we invite you to become furniture designers.

Workshop: RECYCLING – A SOURCE OF CREATIVITY with Alexandru Cretu (MAKER STUDIO)

The creation of unique furniture from recycled materials involves repurposing items such as wooden pallets, old doors, or vintage suitcases into functional, distinctive pieces. This sustainable approach allows for the creation of a personalized interior while reducing waste. The goal of the workshop is to provide knowledge and practical skills on how to use tools to create decorations, lighting installations, and unique, functional furniture for interior spaces.

Who can participate?

Anyone who enjoys DIY projects or wants to acquire new creative and technical skills.

What to bring?

An old piece of furniture, an interior detail, or a pallet—the foundation for your new creation.

Tools for production will be provided by Maker Studio—a variety of basic hand, power, and pneumatic tools. Materials will also be provided by Maker Studio—they will be used both for testing the tools and for creating a unique, multifunctional furniture design. Participants will develop their own ideas and designs based on available resources and opportunities.

Maximum number of participants: 10
Workshop start date: June 1 (Monday), 4:00–6:00 p.m.
Workshop duration: June 1–5 (all week, Monday through Friday, daily from 4–6 p.m.; participants will have the opportunity to continue working on their furniture project until completion)

The furniture created during the workshop will be presented to the public so that visitors can try it out and find inspiration. It will become part of DESIGN WEEK’26.

Exhibition: June 6–7
Location: Anykščiai Arts Incubator (J. Biliūno St. 53, Anykščiai)
